The Periodontal / General Dentistry Sharpening System is used for sharpening all hygiene instruments, dental instruments, periodontal knives and dental scissors.
System includes:
Rx System II Machine. The 110 or 220-Volt machine is the core of the set and powers the sharpening stones.
Sharpening Instructional DVD (Item # 95075). The 27-minute DVD covers the instructions for sharpening all of the instruments in the Perio / General Dentist's office.
Instruction Manual (Item # 95107). The Instruction Manual is a step by step guide for sharpening all of the instruments in the Perio / General Dentist's Office.
Hone #1 (Triangle) Vitrified - Red (Item # 76740). The Vitrified 1/4 in. flat surfaced stone is used for small chisels and hatchets. The edges of the stone can used for the grooved teeth of surgical rasps.
Hone #2 (Round) Vitrified - Red (Item # 76742). The Vitrified 1/4 in. diameter round stone is used to sharpen spoons, excavators and explorers. The stone has a snap-in design so that it can be rotated in the holder for longer life.
Hone #3 (Diamond) Ceramic - White (Item 76612). The 1/2 in. 30 degree slope diamond shaped ceramic hone is designed specifically to fit the grooves of small files, saws and serrations.
Hone #4 (Grooved) Vitrified (Item # 76746). The 1/8 in. grooved ceramic hone is designed to sharpen small spoons and to round the tips of hygiene curettes.
400 Grit Diamond Disk (Item # 76668). The 2 in. honing disk is used for applying a new edge to dull instruments and for reshaping damaged or custom instruments.
RSC (Rubberized Silicon Carbide) Hard Disk (Item # 76704). The 2 in. carbide rubber honing disk is the tool necessary for maintaining a sharp edge on instruments. The less aggressive grit allows the operator to take an instrument that is not dull but could use sharpening and return it to the sharpness that the diamond disk provides while removing less metal from the instrument.
(2) Leather Honing Disks - "D" Shaft (Item # 76539). The 2 in. honing disks when used with the Rx Hi-Finish, can take a Peridontal knife and put a razor edge on it.
Disk Perio and Scissor Guide (Item # 76565). The dual-purpose guide provides the correct angles for sharpening curettes, scales and scissors.
Rx Hone Cleaner (0.5 oz). The gel removes metal from the honing stones, honing ceramics and from the black RSC disk in seconds.
Rx Hi-Finish (0.5 oz). The buffing compound is applied to the leather disks to produce razor sharp edges and high lustres.
Test Stick (Item # 76553). After sharpening, use the Test Stick to determine if the edge is sharp enough.
Disk Removal Tool (Item # 76505). The tool provides an easy and effective way to remove the honing disks from the spindles of the machine.
Carry Case. The case is specifically built to hold and preserve all of the parts that attach to the honing machine and are included with this system.
